 Nalayira Divya Prabandham contains 4000 songs on Lord Vishnu. These are considered to be the pet songs for Vaishnav Brahmins. They are still singing in temples with their melting in the tunes. Carnatic musicians also bring these songs to the stage very often but only a few here and there are able to do it. The author Sri Ramanuja dasan wanted to bring these songs back into the carnatic stages. It very difficult to bring all the 4000 songs in one edition in the form of keerthanas. So, he worked hard to bring 246 popular songs, fixed Raga and Thala for them and compiled them in the form of keerthanas.
